- 5.0 out of 5 stars from rc -- I loved this book! You will too! : Anne’s writing is exceptional. She is an excellent communicator and passes on her wisdom and love for Jesus in her writing. Rachel-Ruth’s story telling was done with perfection. I felt as though I truly knew the family with the honest, heartfelt stories. The love of Rachel-Ruth’s grandparents, parents, husband and daughters was evident in every chapter. Passing the wisdom and love of God from one generation to the next is so important in our families. Some stories brought a smile to my face, when she told of Daddy Bill taking walks with his grandchildren and reading the Bible with them. Others, brought tears to my eyes as she told the stories of Tai Tai’s and her father’s passing. Each chapter was beautifully written with personal stories of following Jesus, forgiveness, grace, heartache, love, sorrow, joy, peace and God’s faithfulness. The pictures at the end of each chapter made it so much more personal and loving. I bought several books to give as Christmas gifts. It was an awesome read, very encouraging and a true blessing. The focus of their book is leaning into Jesus in all parts of our lives, striving to run our race of faith with responsibility, diligence, and perseverance so that we pass that Baton of Truth onto the next generation, to those who are watching how we live out our faith, especially when we are stressed and irritated by the struggles of life or when we are in pain and suffering. I think this is an important book for all Jesus Followers, not just those with children, because we are all meant to pass on the Baton of Truth to those we do life with. The time we spend in this land of living is so brief. It is essential that we choose to live it well, whether we are having good days or bad days. That matters so much more than the words we speak, though they are important. And I love the real life examples of faith lived out that Anne and Rachel-Ruth share with us to encourage us to do the same. The book is very readable and inspiring.
